ABC will air the pilot after passing on the show in 2017
Schooled, the '90s spin-off of The Goldbergs, will finally be hitting our screens.
After passing on the Adam F. Goldberg project back in May 2017, ABC will air the pilot episode later this month, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The episode, aptly titled "The Goldbergs: 1990-Something," picks up where its parent series left off and will center around Tim Meadows' John Glascott, who is now head of William Penn Academy.
His motley crew of faculty members includes his sister Lucy, played by Nia Long, who is preoccupied with protecting her newly-enrolled teen daughters Felicia (Rachel Crow) and Gigi (Summer Parker) at the high school. She'll find herself split between Glascott's nurturing approach to mentoring and Coach Mellor's (Bryan Callen) hyper-competitive style. Goldberg family matriarch Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) is also slated to drop by.
The pilot for Schooled is expected to air later this month on ABC.
