The Goldbergs will continue its annual tradition of paying tribute to an '80s movie classic next season. ABC has announced that the sitcom's Season 7 premiere will pay homage to 1983 comedy-adventure film National Lampoon's Vacation. The episode will feature two stars from the original movie: Christie Brinkley, who appeared in the film as the Girl in the Ferrari, and Anthony Michael Hall, who played Rusty.

The season premiere will feature the Goldberg family heading to Disneyland at Beverly's (Wendi McLendon-Covey) insistence before Erica (Hayley Orrantia) and Barry (Troy Gentile) go to college. And just as things went off course for the Griswolds during their increasingly messy road trip to Wally World, fans can count on the Goldbergs' cross-country trek to hit a few unexpected speed bumps. Likely making matters worse will be Erica's looming concern about her relationship with Geoff, who has told her cryptically, "We need to talk," but who doesn't want to have that conversation until she returns from the trip.

Here's When Grey's Anatomy, The Good Doctor, and More ABC Shows Premiere in the Fall

The Goldbergs has previously featured tributes to other throwback favorites of the era, including The Goonies, Ferris Bueller's Day Off,Risky Business, The Karate Kid, Dirty Dancing, and Sixteen Candles. Fans might remember that Charlie Sheen previously revisited his role from Ferris Bueller during The Goldbergs' second season. Although ABC -- which announced the news at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Monday -- has not revealed Brinkley and Hall's roles, there's always a chance Brinkley will recreate that iconic car flirtation scene and Hall will crush another beer for old times' sake.

The Goldbergs Season 7 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 8/7c on ABC.
