The 100's Eliza Taylor Previews What's Next for Clarke Now That She's 'Dead'

Will Bellamy or Madi figure out she's actually Josephine?

The 100 pulled the craziest switcheroo when it implanted Josephine's mind into Clarke's (Eliza Taylor) body, but does that mean Clarke is truly lost forever? And if so, who is this brand new character wearing her face?

TV Guide spoke with Eliza Taylor about this massive twist in Clarke's story, and whether we should hold out hope that Clarke will somehow get her body back, despite all evidence to the contrary. "At this point, Clarke is, for all intents and purposes, dead," Taylor said. "Whether or not they can get her back though is the question, and whether or not anyone's even going to notice that she's not Clarke anymore. Josephine is pretty cunning, so it's going to be interesting."

Though we only saw a quick flash of Josephine in Episode 2, "Red Sun Rising," we'll get to see a whole new side of her as she attempts to get used to her new body while also deceiving Clarke's loved ones into thinking all is well. When dealing with a group this tight-knit though, it may not be as easy as she thinks to pass herself off as the girl whose body she's wearing.

"Josephine is overly confident in the way she thinks that she can portray Clarke. She is going to run into some hurdles. There's so much that she doesn't know about the Spacekru. She's probably going to stumble upon trouble," Taylor said.

"Josephine's different from Clarke in almost every way, apart from the part that they're both incredibly smart and studious," she added. "Josephine's more sociopathic, I would say. Clarke is incredibly compassionate and caring to others. So for me, personally, getting to play someone who is manipulative and deceitful was actually a delight."

We'll get to see just how deceitful Josephine is capable of being in Episode 5, "The Gospel of Josephine." We can only hope that Clarke's friends realize sooner rather than later that things and people are not what they seem in Sanctum.

The 100 airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW.
