Texas Chain Saw Massacre Star Marilyn Burns Dies at 65

Marilyn Burns, who starred in the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre, died in her Houston home on Tuesday, her manager confirmed to Entertainment Weekly. She was 65.

Marilyn Burns, who starred in the original Texas Chain Saw Massacredied in her Houston home on Tuesday, her manager confirmed to Entertainment Weekly. She was 65.

Burns made her film debut in Robert Altman's Brewster McCloudwhile studying drama at the University of Texas at Austin. She continued to appear in small parts before landing the role of Sally Hardesty in the 1974 cult classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Following her breakout role, Burns went on to star in Eaten Aliveand the Emmy-nominated mini-series Helter Skelter. She made cameos in 1994's Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation and 2013's Texas Chainsaw 3D.
