Target's getting a head start on holiday shopping this year, and they're not holding back. Beginning Oct. 5 and running through Oct. 11, Target Circle Week is back yet again, a full seven days of deals that stretch way beyond your average weekend sale. This is the holiday shopping season's opening act, and this time, Target's doubling down with more than 20,000 new items, thousands of which start at just $5. With most gifts priced under $20 and more than half the assortment exclusive to Target, the lineup is looking stacked this year.

This week-long sale outpaces Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days when it comes to length. Amazon is giving us two days (Tuesday, Oct. 7, and Wednesday, Oct. 8) and we're still pumped for that, no question. But with seven straight days of savings, Target's event makes the October shopping calendar even harder to ignore.

We're really looking at electronics deals this year. From the latest headphones and smart home gadgets to family-friendly tech, expect plenty of markdowns.

Aside from all the awesome electronics deals, toy hunters in particular should pay attention. From LEGO to Barbie, Target has hundreds of toy exclusives that make this event a go-to if you're checking off a kid's wish list. Add in festive décor, fashion finds, beauty sets, and even food gifting, and you're looking at a one-stop shop for holiday prep.

Bottom line? Between Target Circle Week and Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, shoppers are looking at back-to-back opportunities to score holiday gifts without breaking the bank. With two of the biggest retailers rolling out massive discounts in the same stretch of October, this season's shaping up to be a real treat for anyone ready to dive into holiday shopping early.
