Susan Boyle Hospitalized for Exhaustion

Susan Boyle was admitted to a clinic for exhaustion shortly after coming in second on Britain's Got Talent, producers said.
"Following Saturday night's show, Susan is exhausted and emotionally drained. She has been seen by her private GP who supports her decision to take a few days out for rest and recovery," Talent producers said in a statement. "We offer her our ongoing support and wish her a speedy recovery."
Police were called to the singing sensation's hotel, where Boyle exhibited signs of an "emotional breakdown" following the finale, Britain's Daily Mail reports.
"We were called about 6 pm on Sunday to a central London hotel to doctors assessing a woman under the Mental Health Act," a police spokeswoman told the paper. "Police attended at the request of ambulance personnel and the woman was taken voluntarily to a clinic. No one was arrested and there were no allegations of crime."
The newspaper said Boyle was at a clinic, but a clinic spokeswoman would not confirm or deny her admittance.
Talent judge Piers Morgan says he has spoken with Boyle and that she is "fine" and just needs "some rest." He called the hospitalization "entirely voluntary."
"She talked to doctors — she's been seeing doctors through the week whenever she's wanting to because they've all been under huge pressure, these contestants. But nobody, and I stress this, has had to put up with the kind of attention that Susan has. And no one could have predicted it — so we entered uncharted territory," Morgan told London morning show GMTV.
Last week, Boyle wasreported to have lashed out at aggressive British journalists.
"She had too long to wait between the audition show and the final, and the pressure just builds and builds and builds," Morgan said. "It's been crazy. She has gone from anonymity to being the most-downloaded woman in history."
Boyle reprised the song that turned her into a household name for Saturday's finale — Les Miserables' "I Dreamed a Dream." Despite rave reviews, she settled for second place behind dance troupe Diversity.
