Former Survivor Producer Arrested in Wife's Murder

Former Survivor producer Bruce Beresford-Redman has been arrested in connection to the murder of his wife during a family vacation in Mexico earlier this year, according to Reuters.
Beresford-Redman was taken into custody by federal marshals and FBI agents from his Los Angeles home Tuesday night. He is expected to appear in a federal court in Los Angeles on Wednesday to discuss his extradition.

Mexican prosecutors seek arrest of former Survivor producer

Mexican authorities want him returned to stand trial on an aggravated homicide charge, but Beresford-Redman's attorney, Richard G. Hirsch, said that his client is innocent and that they plan to fight extradition. Beresford-Redman's wife, Monica, was found dead in a sewer at a Cancun resort in April. An autopsy showed that she died from asphyxiation after suffering a blow to the right temple. Beresford-Redman was briefly detained as a person of interest in the case and later returned to his L.A. home against the wishes of Mexican authorities.

Former Survivor producer released from detention

In June, Mexican authorities issued a request that Beresford-Redman return to the country. According to Mexican complaints filed in the investigation, the couple had been having marital problems and Monica had discovered her husband had been having an affair.Beresford-Redman, who has not worked on Survivor since 2004, also produced Pimp My Ride, The Restaurant and The Contender. He and Monica have two children, ages 5 and 3, who are currently in the care of Beresford-Redman's parents.
