Superman Is Coming to Supergirl Season 2
The Man of Steel will appear in the season premiere
Supergirl will start its new season on The CW with an assist from a very big name. According to Deadline, Superman will make his first appearance on Supergirl during the season premiere's opening scene.
Casting is currently underway to find an actor to play Superman -- and his alter ego Clark Kent, of course -- on the first two episodes of Supergirl Season 2. The Man of Steel will be visiting his cousin Kara (Melissa Benoist) in National City. It's unclear if Superman will be a recurring character after these two episodes.
Superman, while frequently referenced and occasionally glimpsed from afar, never appeared during Supergirl's first season. But in order to keep viewers' attention as Supergirl moves from CBS to the lower-profile CW, the show is doing the superhero equivalent of getting Brad Pitt to guest-star.
