No one really thinks of romance when they think of Stranger Things, but fighting other-dimensional monsters can make someone pretty lonely. That is the most true for Hopper (David Harbour), who has had a noticable flirtation with Joyce (Winona Ryder) for two seasons but hasn't been able to make the romantic link happen yet.

According to Harbour, Hopper is going to be expanding his "language," aka communication skills, in the next season of the Netflix epic and that could lead to deeper connections.

"I think we'll start to see him take more risks with these new languages of intimacy and vulnerability and maybe we'll start to see that he has needs that he hasn't expressed before," Harbour teased to TV Guide, but don't expect him to be super smooth. "That's exciting to watch him open up in that way. Of course he's going to flail and be horrible at it too, which is always fun as well," Harbour said.

Will those deeper connections be with Joyce though? Harbour played coy on that one.

"That's a good question. I'll have to get back to you on that one," he said.

Stranger Things returns to Netflix in 2019.
