One day after news broke that the NYPD is investigating former 7th Heaven actor Stephen Collins for allegedly molesting children, ABC has decided to remove his appearance from an upcoming episode of its hit drama Scandal.
Stephen Collins' lawyer accuses actor's wife of extortion
"We can confirm that we will not be airing any footage with Stephen Collins," a representative for the network told BuzzFeed News.
Collins previously appeared on Scandal in Season 2, as anchorman Reed Wallace. On Sept. 23, the actor tweeted that he'd finished filming another episode that was set to air later this year.

On Tuesday, TVGuide Network and UP TV both pulled reruns of 7th Heaven from their schedules, and Collins was fired from the film Ted 2.
The investigation into the accusations against Collins is ongoing.
