Stephen Amell sure loves his spandex. The Arrow star is trading in his signature superhero gear for a different set of spanks with the wrestling drama Heels, according to Deadline. The Starz series marks Amell's first post-Arrow gig.

Set in a small Georgia community, Heels follows two rivaling brothers trying to grow their family-owned wrestling business while also honoring their late father's legacy. The difficult part, however, is living up to their larger-than-life in-ring personas.

Amell will take on the role of Jack Spade, the charismatic heel, or bad guy, of the Duffy Wrestling Association. In the ring, he's nefarious. In real life, he's juggling multiple roles as a father, husband, and overworked business owner grinding to ensure that his dreams come to fruition. The question isn't whether or not he has what it takes to make it, but what he's willing to risk β€” like his marriage or his relationship with his brother β€” in order to get what he wants.

An all-star crew has assembled to bring Heels to life, including writer Michael Waldron, whose credits include Rick and Morty and the upcoming Loki series. Mike O'Malley, whom you might recognize from shows like Justified, My Name Is Earl and Glee (as Kurt's dad), is set to serve as showrunner. Season 1 will consist of eight hourlong episodes.

Amell is no stranger to the wrestling world, having stepped into the ring on several occasions, including the WWE's SummerSlam pay-per-view back in 2015 and the indy wrestling promotion Ring of Honor in 2018. No word yet on whether he'll make in appearance in All Elite Wrestling alongside his good buddy Cody Rhodes when it debuts on TNT this fall, but an invitation has already been extended. Amell also invited Rhodes to appear on Heels.
