Starz is putting a lot of faith in Power, the gritty gangster drama starring 50 Cent that just premiered its third season on Sunday.

The Hollywood Reporter says the network has renewed Power for two more seasons on the heels of a big jump in viewership for the Season 3 return. A record 2.26 million live plus-same-day viewers watched last week's episode, a figure that suggests Starz's decision to move Power from Saturday to Sunday may make the network a legit competitor against HBO and Showtime.

"Along with our executive producers and the talented Power cast and crew, [executive producers Courtney Kemp, Mark Randall Emmett, Gary Lennon and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson] have created one of the most distinct dramas I've ever had the good fortune of putting on the air," Starz president and CEO Chris Albrecht said. "The fans have let it be known loud and clear that they cannot get enough of Ghost, Tommy, Tasha, Angela and Kanan."

In addition to 50 Cent, Power stars Omari Hardwick, Lela Loren and Joseph Sikora.

Power airs Sundays at 9/8c on Starz.
