"On Wednesday, March 17th, a pre-planned cardiac surgery was performed on Star Jones," her rep said in a statement. "The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family. Star is grateful for everyone's thoughts and prayers."
The surgery was a follow-up to surgery Jones had in her teens for a thoracic tumor, her rep said. Thoracic surgery repairs organs in the thorax, or chest.

The former Viewco-host, who underwent gastric bypass surgery in 2003 and lost 160 pounds, underwent her cardiac surgery just days before her 48th birthday on March 24.
