Social TV: Michelle Obama Joins Twitter, Promotes iCarly TV Special

The Twitter world was buzzing last week after news broke that first lady Michelle Obama had jumped on the social media bandwagon. The timing of @MichelleObama's decision to join Twitter perfectly coincided with the announcement that she'd be making a cameo on Nickelodeon's iCarly.
"There are some big iCarly fans in our household, so we're all pretty excited about today's event with military kids and the cast," she tweeted on Jan. 13.

"iMeet the First Lady: A Very Special Visitor" premieres Wednesday at 7:30/6:30c on Nickelodeon. In the episode, Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) learns that her father, who's in the military, won't be able to return home for her birthday. But she quickly cheers up when she receives a special visit from Mrs. Obama, who thanks Carly for being supportive during her father's deployment.
