Saturday Night Live: Charlize Theron Can’t Sing, But Looks Good in a Fat Suit

Charlize Theron returned to Saturday Night Live for the first time since hosting in 2000, and it was ... unremarkable.

The episode didn't get off to a great start as the actress, who stars in Seth MacFarlane's upcoming film A Million Ways to Die in the West, delivered a rather mediocre opening monologue. But the episode wasn't all bad, and wrapped up with a very funny pre-recorded sketch about the typical tourists found in New York.

Opening monologue: Highlighting Theron's one flaw — she can't sing — the opening monologue didn't really do much except continue to make us feel bad about not being Charlize Theron.

Mother's Day Game Show:  In light of Mother's Day, Kate McKinnon stars as a game show host and mother who forces her children to join her in rounds like "Who's that Gal I Like?" and "Which of These Emails Did I Send You Last Week?" It's funny because it's true.

Weekend Update: In honor of her upcoming retirement, Barbara Walters stopped by the Weekend Update desk. She was a good sport, and even got in a few good jokes about being a "real" journalist!

Pet Rescue Commercial: This cat adoption commercial had Theron playing against type and it was hilarious. Plus, cats! Lots and lots of adorable cats!

Tourists: This pre-recorded sketch was probably the best of the evening, and featured various cast members playing foreign tourists visiting New York for the first time. Theron appears in a fat suit, but Bobby Moynihan's character steals the show after asking someone if they know where a certain street is only to give them exact directions to it when they tell him "no."
