They might enjoy a lazy Sunday, but last Saturday night, the guys of Lonely Island were rockin' like they were on a boat!
In honor of their 100th digital short for Saturday Night Live, cast member Andy Samberg and his evil-genius partners, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer, whipped up a mash-up of some of the best clips from the past seven seasons.
Filled with nods to everything from "Laser Cats" to "J--- in My Pants," the three-and-a-half minute creation was first and foremost incredibly and expectedly foul. (Let's just say the guys aimed a little lower than just patting themselves on the back for reaching the milestone.) But what really popped our cork was how many stars Samberg and company were able to line up for the celebration. In addition to the episode's host, Will Ferrell, Justin Timberlake strapped on his favorite box; Jon Hamm snuck back as shirtless sax player Sergio; Natalie Portman returned to rap about her baby; Michael Bolton reprised his Jack Sparrow bit; and for some reason, Justin Bieber filled in as Island's Schaffer for most of the footage. It was more fun than a week at the Space Olympics and a reminder of how "weird" can actually work brilliantly when the folks involved fully commit to it.
Did you dig the 100th digital short? Leave your comments below, because we have to go Hulu "The Japanese Office" right now.
