Good news, Dexter fans!

For the first time ever, the serial killer drama will premiere this summer, Showtime announced Saturday.

CBS at TCAs: All the latest news

Season 8 of Dexter will premiere on Sunday, June 30 at 9/8c, followed the by series premiere of Ray Donovan, starring Liev Schreiber, at 10/9c. Dexter will likely go up against HBO's equally gory original series True Blood.

Dexter's early return will make room for Homeland to take over its 9/8c timeslot when it returns for Season 3 on Sunday, Sept. 29. The Emmy-winning drama will be paired with the new series Masters of Sex, starring Martin Sheen and Lizzy Caplan, which debuts at 10/9c.

Winter TV's must-see new shows

Earlier in the year,  The Borgias and Nurse Jackie will come back with new seasons on Sunday, April 14. The Big C will kick off its final four hour-long episodes, entitled Hereafter, will kick off on Monday, April 29 at 10/9c.

Featuring guests such as Louis C.K., Steve Martin, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell, Inside Comedy will return on Monday, Feb. 11 at 11/10c. The new docuseries The World According to Dick Cheney will premiere on Friday, March 15.
