The man found guilty of stalking Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson has been sent to a mental hospital for five years, according to The Associated Press.
Ryan O'Ryan was apprehended in March 2009 after breaking onto the studio lot where Dancing with the Starsis filmed. He was deemed legally insane and charged with felony stalking, two misdemeanor concealed weapons violations and burglary charges in early June.
Man found guilty of stalking Shawn Johnson
Johnson went on to win Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars following the incident.
Doctors evaluated O'Ryan's mental status, and a judge ruled to send him to a mental institution on Tuesday.
Johnson's camp did not immediately respond to TVGuide.com's request for comment.
