Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer executive producer Marti Noxon and Paranormal Activity executive producer Jason Blum are teaming with Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn to adapt her debut novel Sharp Objects for television, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sharp Objects tells the story of a reporter who, fresh out of a brief stay at a psychiatric hospital, must return to her hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls where she is dogged by her own demons.
Entertainment One will develop and produce, but no network is attached yet. Noxon will write and executive-produce with Flynn, Blum and Charles Layton (Sinister).
In addition to adapting her hit novel, Gone Girl, for the big screen, Flynn is also working with Gone Girl director David Fincher on adapting the British conspiracy thriller Utopia for HBO.
