TNT has greenlit the action drama Agent X, starring Sharon Stone and Jeff Hephner, the network announced Friday.

Hephner stars as John Case, a smooth, athletic top secret agent hidden from the public and the president, who is deployed only at the discretion of the vice president. Stone plays Natalie Maccabee, the nation's first female VP. The series follows Maccabee and Case as they tackle global threats as well as issues within Washington, D.C., handling cases that are too sensitive for the FBI and CIA.

Agent X also stars Gerald McRaney (House of Cards) as Malcolm Millard, the chief steward of the vice president's mansion, who introduces Maccabee to Case.

"Agent X is a perfect fit for TNT's expanding lineup of action-dramas," TNT's Senior Vice President Lillah McCarthy said in a statement. "It's a slick, high-energy thrill-ride with lots of twists and turns, big action sequences and kick-ass stunts."

TNT has ordered 10 episodes for the show's first season, which will premiere in 2015.

Hephner's TV credits include Chicago Fire and The O.C., and he can also be seen in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar. Stone, who recurred on Law & Order: SVU four years ago, will also serve as an executive producer on the show, along with Armyan Bernstein (Air Force OneCastle) and William Blake Herron (The Bourne Identity).
