Sharon Osbourne Reveals She Had a Double Mastectomy

Sharon Osbourne elected to have a double mastectomy last summer after discovering she had a gene that made her predisposed to developing breast cancer, she told the U.K.'s Hello! magazine. "I decided to just take everything off," Osbourne tells the publication, saying her family — husband Ozzy, children Kelly and Jack, and new granddaughter Pearl — were the main motivation behind her decision.

Osbourne's recent health problems began as a result of a leaking breast implant, according to the report. But she says she's not talking about her surgery in order to gain sympathy.

"For me, it wasn't a big decision," The Talk co-host tells Hello!. "I want to be around for a long time and be a grandmother to Pearl."
