In a widely circulated Internet video a, 39-year-old firefighter Shannon Stone falls from the stands of the Ballpark at Arlington during Thursday's Texas Rangers-Oakland A's baseball game while attempting to catch a foul ball tossed up by outfielder Josh Hamilton. In the clip, you can hear announcers crack jokes at Stone's expense, unaware of the severity of his fall. Stone reportedly died on the way to the hospital. His son accompanied him to the game.

Rangers president Nolan Ryan issued a statement after news of Shannon's death broke: "We had a very tragic accident tonight and one of our fans lost their life reaching over the rail trying to get a ball. As an organization, and as our team members and our staff, we're very heavy-hearted about this, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family."

We have since removed the clip at the reported request of Stone's widow. According to Ryan, "She's very concerned about her son and the impact that this is having on him."
