Go ahead and rip our hearts right out
Well, fam, we've finally reached the end of the road. Shadowhunterswill air its 2.5-hour series finale next week, and it's got about a million storylines to wrap up before the movie-length episode is over.
On the set of the series finale, TV Guide spoke to Katherine McNamara about the very last scene of the episode, which is between none other than Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and Clary, the two characters who arguably have had the most ups and downs over the course of the series. While McNamara didn't divulge any details about the scene that will cap the series, she did say she thought it was the perfect end for Clary's story.
"It's a very bittersweet scene, I'll be honest," McNamara said. "It's left in a way that can be interpreted in many different ways, depending on different people's [opinions]. It will be interesting to see the fan discussion when it comes out to see people's theories as to what might happen next. It's very bittersweet, but it kind of made me realize how far we've come because it's reminiscent of other moments Jace and Clary have had together, and it's very much the same and very much completely different all at once. It's one of those moments where you realize no matter how much things change, the core of things will always be the same. It's a perfect way to end the show, in my opinion. It's really beautiful."
Well, thanks Kat, go ahead and rip our hearts right out!
