Seth Meyers and his wife Alexi Ashe welcomed their second child in dramatic fashion.

During Monday night's Late Night With Seth Meyers, the late night host revealed that their newborn son Axel Strahl was born Sunday in the lobby of their New York apartment. The couple previously experienced a close call with their first son, two-year-old Ashe Olsen, who was born twenty minutes after their arrived at the hospital. This time, however, things progressed even more rapidly.

"We're in the lobby and we're walking down the steps and my wife just says, 'I can't get in the car. I'm gonna have the baby right now. The baby is coming,'" he recalled.

With the baby already crowning, Meyers and his wife headed back towards the center of the lobby and prepared to give birth on the floor. "I called 911 and over the course of a minute conversation, I basically said, 'We're about to have a baby...we're having a baby...we had a baby,'" he explained.

Meyers than shared several pictures from the scene which saw the New York Fire Department arrive shortly afterward to cut the umbilical.

Thankfully, mom and baby are doing just fine and Meyers has another exciting birth story to tell.
