NBC has called on a Broadway veteran for its live adaptation of The Wiz.
Stephanie Mills, who played Dorothy when the musical first debuted in 1975 will return to the live production, but this time as Auntie Em, the network announced at its Upfronts presentation on Monday.
Meanwhile, NBC is looking for "new talent" to play Dorothy.
The 1975 Broadway musical re-imagines The Wizard of Oz with an all-black cast and a New York City-inspired Land of Oz. The live production, partnered with Cirque du Soleil, follows NBC's 2013 The Sound of Music Live and last year's Peter Pan Live.
The Wiz Live! is currently set to air Dec. 3 on NBC. Who do you think should play Dorothy?
