Exclusive: Science Channel Schedules Season 4 of Morgan Freeman's Through the Wormhole
Morgan Freeman answers more of life's burning questions as his Science Channel series Through the Wormhole returns next month. The show launches its fourth season on Wednesday, June 5, at 10/9c. This season, Freeman and crew weren't afraid to tackle some of society's most controversial topics, starting with the first episode. "When Does Life Begin?" asks scientists, experts and theologians to discuss whether life begins at conception, at birth, or at another moment in time. "It is politically charged and religiously charged, but that's the nature of the beast," Freeman tells TV Guide Magazine. "We're just asking questions. The last thing we aspire to is political correctness."

Other episodes this season include the topics "Did God Create Evolution," "How Do Aliens Think," "Are Robots the Future of Evolution," "Can Our Minds Be Hacked?" and "Will Sex Become Extinct?" (For that last one, Freeman has a spoiler alert: "No.")
Freeman says he worried after Season 2 that Through the Wormhole would run out of questions, but so far that hasn't been a problem. "So far we've been lucky or successful in coming up with new questions," he says. "They keep coming. There's so much research in so many areas going on."
What is Freeman most interested in learning? "Two things," he says. "What holds the universe together? Scientists say its actually expanding. But why isn't there chaos? The second is gravity. It's a big mystery to me."
Science Channel general manager/executive vice president Debbie Adler Meyers calls Through the Wormhole a "defining franchise" for the network. "Morgan Freeman is the perfect tour guide to take viewers along as we explore the world's biggest and boldest topics in search for the truth."
