Schitt's Creekfans are in for an extra-special treat this year. The Pop comedy will be premiering its first Christmas special this winter, which will also serve as the Season 4 finale. The Christmas special is set to air on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 10/9c, TVLine reports.

The episode finds Johnny hoping to ring in the holidays with a traditional Rose Christmas party like they used to. However, getting everyone to participate will be easier said than done.

After the jolly episode airs, fans won't have to wait long to return to Schitt's Creek. The fifth season will premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 10/9c.

Season 5 will see the formerly wealthy family looking ahead, hoping to take things to the next level. Moira's (Catherine O'Hara) film shoot in Bosnia will have renewed her sense of purpose (and sense of hope of ever leaving Schitt's Creek) and she'll funnel that new energy into her most ambitious artistic project yet. Meanwhile, the Rosebud Motel will be reaching new heights under Johnny's (Eugene Levy) leadership, but managing the needs of his staff will prove to be a major struggle. David (Dan Levy) will be focusing on his relationship with Patrick (Noah Reid), which leads him to do the unexpected -- join a baseball team -- while Alexis (Annie Murphy) will try to spice things up with Ted (Dustin Milligan) and consider a move that could result in her leaving the small town behind.
