"It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest," Harris recalls.
"I was sick of feeling the way that I did in the days after the diagnosis. I knew I needed to take control," she says of exploring multiple treatment options.
After considering a double mastectomy and a lumpectomy with radiation, Harris opted for the former. Once she settled on the decision, she says, "I felt so much calmer."
