Dexter's Michael C. Hall Is Trying to Save His Daughter in This New Netflix Series

The Dexter star returns to TV with Safe

Dexter star Michael C. Hall is making his TV return with Safe, a Netflix drama series that's coming May 10 and got its first trailer on Friday.

Hall stars as Tom Delaney, a widowed surgeon who lives in a gated community where nothing bad ever happens -- or so he thinks, until his teenaged daughter goes missing. In his search to find her, he uncovers dark secrets about the people closest to him.

The series was created by bestselling crime novelist Harlan Coben, who consistently delivers pulse-pounding, twisty thrillers. One of the most interesting twists that's readily apparent right in the trailer is that Hall, an American, is playing a Brit. Usually it's the other way around!

Hall is best known for playing funeral director David Fisher on the classic series Six Feet Under and serial killer who kills serial killers Dexter Morgan for eight seasons on Showtime's dark crime drama Dexter.

Safe's eight-episode first season arrives on Netflix Friday, May 10.
