Guess he's caught the TV bug!
Ryan Phillippe apparently has taken a liking to television.
After starring in ABC's Secrets and Lies earlier this year, Phillippe has now nabbed the lead role in USA's drama pilot Shooter, Varietyreports.
Based on the 2007 movie of the same name that starred Mark Wahlberg, which was in turn inspired by Stephen Hunter's novel Point of Impact, Shooter follows Bob Lee Swagger, a former Marine-turned-sniper who's hired to stop a presidential assassination and ends up being the primary suspect. Wahlberg is an executive producer of USA's version.
Almost immediately after Secrets and Lies was renewed for Season 2, Phillippe stated that he would not be returning to the anthology series (though his co-star Juliette Lewis is).
USA is considering five drama pilots for the 2016 season, including Shooter, according to Variety. Would you watch?
