Ryan Murphy has recruited The Rose and a Light to join his small screen universe.
On Saturday, Murphy announced during PaleyFest's Pose panel (as reported by The Hollywood Reporter) that none other than Bette Midler would be joining the cast of The Politician, his new political comedy series for Netflix. Also on board is Judith Light, who starred in Murphy's The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

The two join an already stacked cast for the streaming show which features Benjamin Platt as Payton, a wealthy, young, and ambitious man who believes he will become the President of the United States one day. The show will also feature a cast reunion from the Murphyverse as American Horror Story stars Dylan McDermott and Jessica Lange will appear. Gwyneth Paltrow, January Jones, and more are also expected to star.
The Politician is one of two new series Murphy has created for Netflix, after Ratched with Sarah Paulson.
