Golden Girls star Rue McClanahan suffered a stroke while recovering from her November heart bypass surgery, E! News reported.
Doctors were able to successfully remove the blood clot from the actress' brain. The 75-year-old McClanahan's speech and movement on the right side of her body have been affected, and her recovery has been slow but steady.

She spent two weeks in the intensive care unit, and now the Emmy winner is undergoing physical therapy. She's expected to be out of the hospital by the end of the month, her rep told E! News.
McClanahan's other living Golden Girl co-star, Betty White, is scheduled to receive a lifetime achievement award at the Screen Actors Guild awards Jan. 23.
