Roy Scheider Dead at 75

Roy Scheider, who was perhaps best known for his role in the original summer blockbuster, Jaws, died on Sunday at age 75. Though a cause of death has not been released, Scheider for the past two years had been treated for multiple myeloma at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences' Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy.Scheider received two Oscar nominations over his career, for 1971's The French Connection (best supporting actor, as Gene Hackman's police partner), and for 1979's All That Jazz (best actor).Related:• FlickChick remembers Roy Scheider
