Rosie O'Donnell to Return to The View
Rosie O'Donnell is returning to The View on Feb. 7 for the first time since her abrupt exit in 2007, ABC announced on Monday. "I have great affection for Rosie and we have remained in contact through the years," Barbara Walters said in a statement. "I am happy to welcome her back to the program. O'Donnell was a co-host for the daytime series from September 2006 until May 2007. Just weeks after she announced she wouldn't be renewing her contract, O'Donnell asked to leave early following a tense on-air confrontation with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The two feuded over the war in Iraq and instead of cutting to commercial, producers aired the fight and put the two side by side on-screen. O'Donnell never returned to the show after that day. Hasselbeck exited the show in 2013.
