Roseanne Barr announced her plan to run for president of the United States on Thursday's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Again! For those not paying attention (and who could blame them?), Barr has been saying this for over a year, right down to the claim that she's also running for prime minister of Israel as part of a "two-fer" deal.
But whatever, let her have her glory. Among her platforms: legalizing marijuana, invading Mexico ("because they got oil"), getting rid of taxes, forgiving all debts and getting rid of money all together in favor of a barter system of vegetables ("because that actually has value — way more value than our currency").
Barr says that she's choosing the tax payers "as my vice president," which will, if nothing else, make for crowding in the Oval Office. She says she's created her own political party, the Green Tea Party, since Democrats and Republicans "both suck and they're both a bunch of criminals."
While this reads and sounds like an elaborate joke that only gets more absurd as it goes on, Barr told Leno that she's "totally serious." She later confirmed this on Twitter. You know they're serious when they confirm on Twitter.
