Roseanne: Here's What the Conners Have Been Up To

They've sure been busy in the last 20 years

It's been 20 years since Roseannelast aired and much has changed with the Conner family. D.J. (Michael Fishman), Darlene (Sara Gilbert) and Becky (Lecy Goranson) have all grown up, with the former two now raising kids of their own. Plus, Dan (John Goodman), who passed away from his heart attack in Season 8, will be re-written as alive for the revival -- though it's unclear how. Despite these major differences, some things will remain unchanged when the beloved sitcom is revived in March.

"The last 20 years, [we've been doing] pretty much doing the same [thing], scraping by," Goodman told TV Guide. Added Roseanne Barr, they've been "getting older" and "watching our family grow." So while the Conners will still be the same working-class family we got to know over nine seasons, more importantly, Goodman assures us that Dan will try to "not to have another heart attack" this time around.

Roseanne's younger sister Jackie (Laurie Metcalf), who's always been the backbone of the family, will have her own struggles to face in the revival, including a mysterious new career. Throughout the show's original run, Jackie worked as an actress, a police officer (until she quit due to injury), a truck driver, a spray girl at a cosmetics counter and co-owner of the Lanford Lunch Box with Roseanne in Season 5.

The Roseanne Cast Defends the Decision to Make Roseanne a Trump Voter

While it's unclear what has happened to the Lunch Box over the last two decades, it looks like Jackie has found employment elsewhere... or so she says. "Jackie claims to have a job," Metcalf teases. "We don't ever see her at her job, so I'm not sure if she's telling the truth or not."

Meanwhile, Lecy Goranson will reprise her role as Becky and Sarah Chalke -- who took over the role in Season 6 -- will play a middle-class woman named Andrea who hires Becky to be her surrogate. "You will see several scenes between us, which I think are really fun," says Goranson.

The revival will also see Estelle Parsons return as Jackie and Roseanne's mom, Beverly, along with Natalie West, who will reprise her role as Crystal. Plus, Sandra Bernhard will again play Nancy and Johnny Galecki will return as David, who ended up marrying and having two kids with Darlene. Plus, according to Metcalf, Christopher Lloyd will head to the series in a surprising manner because he "has a relationship with someone in the cast."

If that isn't enough to whet your appetite for the anticipated Roseanne revival, we don't know what will do the trick.

Roseanne premieres Tuesday, March 27 at 8/7c on ABC.
