Riverdale Boss Confirms Hermosa as Veronica's Older Sister

She's going to bring the trouble

Keisha Hatchett

We're getting a clearer picture of who Hermosa is on Riverdale. Stars Mädchen Amick, Marisol Nichols, Mark Consuelos, Molly Ringwald and Skeet Ulrich, along with executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa assembled at Madison Square Garden for New York Comic Con to unveil new details about Season 4.

During the panel, Aguirre-Sacasa confirmed that Miami-born private investigator Hermosa (Mishel Prada) is, indeed, Veronica's (Camila Mendes) older sister. According to the Riverdale boss, she's "just as scheming" as her father.

"She's just like daddy but a woman so more dangerous," he said. With both of their parents in jail, these newly reunited siblings will have plenty to talk about.

The cast also discussed Luke Perry, who died earlier this year from a stroke. The Season 4 premiere will pay tribute to the late star and honor his legacy. Ringwald, who worked closely with Perry, described the emotional hour as cathartic.

"I didn't get to go to Luke's memorial in Los Angeles, so it was really my goodbye to him," she said. "It was kind of what I needed. Luke was my guy. All of my scenes were with him. It felt like a really nice tribute."

"It's so hard to expect to see him in Pop's or turning the corner. You feel him all around. His spirit is still there, still with us," added Nichols.

Riverdale returns Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 8/7c on The CW.
