Riverdale Casts Breakfast Club Star for Its Flashback Episode

Riverdale is taking their meta casting to the next level.

The CW teen soap is going full Breakfast Club for the highly anticipated flashback episode -- Season 3, Episode 4, "The Midnight Club" -- by casting Anthony Michael Hall as Principal Featherhead, "the longstanding principal at Riverdale High who gets caught up in the game the teenagers are playing in an unexpected way."

Hall, of course, is most known for playing Brian "the nerd" Johnson in John Hughes' The Breakfast Club. It'll be a mini reunion as another vet of the film, Molly Ringwald, already plays Archie's (KJ Apa) mom on the show. "The Midnight Club" will flashback to the parents' days in high school with the younger cast playing the young versions of their adult parents. The episode will reveal a dark secret the parents have been hiding since one fateful night and will probably play heavily into the current day drama.

It gets even better, though! To celebrate the episode, The CW and Warner Bros. sent out a Riverdale yearbook page featuring the adult cast's actual high school yearbook photos. "The Midnight Club" episode of Riverdale will air Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 8/7c on The CW.
