Ricky Gervais Teams With Dexter's Clyde Phillips in the Afterlife

Ricky Gervais is hoping to bring another television series to life — or rather, the Afterlife.

The creator of The Office has joined forces with Clyde Phillips, previously the showrunner on Dexter, to write a pilot about an atheist who dies and goes to heaven, Entertainment Weeklyreports.

The pilot, which will film in early 2012, would feature a cameo by Gervais.

Though the show is not attached to a network yet, we'd put our money on it being picked up by HBO since Gervais has a longstanding history with the cable network, which is home to The Ricky Gervais Show, Extras and his upcoming series Life's Too Short.
