The virtual reality drama has been canceled after just 10 episodes
It looks like it's time to put Reverieto bed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has officially canceled the virtual reality thriller after one season. Starring Sarah Shahi, Reverie told the story of Mara Kint, an ex-hostage negotiator whose expertise on human behavior earns her a job saving ordinary people using a highly advanced virtual reality system in which you can live out all of your wildest dreams. The series also starred Sendhil Ramamurthy, Jessica Lu, and Kathryn Morris, and was executive produced by Mickey Fisher.
Sadly for fans, Reverie's Season 1 finale ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, with Paul (Ramamurthy) telling Mara that, according to his data, she was still inside the program, leaving us with one huge question: How much of this has even been real?!
Reverie aired its 10-episode season this summer, but viewership numbers premiered low and declined each week. Fisher responded to fans disappointed with the news on Twitter, writing, "I really appreciate the kind words, I was so proud of this cast."
