Republican National Convention: What Did You Think of Ann Romney and Chris Christie's Speeches?

Ann Romney and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie took the stage Tuesday night at the Republican National Convention, both offering anecdotes from their family lives and giving personal and political endorsements of presidential hopeful Mitt Romney.

Mrs. Romney recalled meeting her husband at a high school dance nearly 50 years ago, recalling that "he was tall, laughed a lot, [and] was nervous."

The potential next First Lady also attracted some tongue-in-cheek attention from Modern Family creator Steve Levitan Tuesday, prior to delivering her remarks. After Mrs. Romney told ET that the ABC comedy was her favorite show, Levitan tweeted: " Thrilled Ann Romney says ModFam is her favorite show. We'll offer her the role of officiant at Mitch & Cam's wedding. As soon as it's legal." (Mitt Romney is a noted opponent of same-sex marriage.)

Keynote speaker Christie, who was at one point was reported to be considering a presidential run, spoke of his numerous fiscal accomplishments as the governor of New Jersey before outlining why, from a policy perspective, he believes the country needs a conservative leader like Mitt Romney.
"There is doubt and fear for our future in every corner of our country," he said. "These feelings are real. This moment is real. It's a moment like this where some skeptics wonder if American greatness is over."

""We've never been a country to shy away from the truth," Christie continued. "History shows that we stand up when it counts and it's this quality that has defined our character and our significance in the world. I know this simple truth and I'm not afraid to say it: [Republicans'] ideas are right for America and [Democrats'] ideas have failed America."
