Joe Finley auditioned for the NBC reality competition series on Saturday, the same day his wife, Laura, was found dead in a stairwell at Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, police questioned Finley on the way to his audition. They reportedly showed him a picture of his dead wife, who had sustained injuries to her face. Following the audition, the police again questioned Finley, who admitted to being in possession of ecstasy, according to the site.
Finley was arrested on drug possession charges Saturday. He told TMZ.com Monday that he had taken two ecstasy pills on Friday, while his wife took one, before they went out partying. She went missing around 3 am Saturday.
Finley claims his wife's death was not an accident; he believes that someone threw her over the railing on the stairwell. According to the site, Finley is also claiming that police told him that an unidentified person had requested a key to their room shortly before the last time Finley saw his wife alive.
