Regis Philbin to Host a Fox Sports 1 Talk Show

Regis Philbin has been tapped to host a talk show on Fox Sports 1, according to The Associated Press.

Crowd Goes Wild will feature interviews with guests and panel debates with NFL star Trevor Pryce, pro tennis player Michael Kosta, Wall Street Journal sports columnist Jason Gay and Sky Sports' anchor Georgie Thompson.

"We're not a sports news show; we're a sports entertainment show," said executive producer Michael Davies, who worked with Philbin on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. "The standard for us: We're not trying to set the agenda of what America [is] talking about on a daily basis. We're frankly trying to be funny a lot of the time."

Crowd Goes Wild will premiere on Monday, Aug. 19.
