RAYMOND, WING TOP TV GUIDE AWARDS

Everybody Loves Raymond — and that includes 30 million readers of TV Guide. CBS's hit sitcom was the big winner at the 2001 TV Guide Awards — held Saturday night at the Shrine Expo Center in Los Angeles — picking up trophies for Comedy Series of the Year, Actor of the Year in a Comedy Series (Ray Romano) and Supporting Actress of the Year in a Comedy Series (Doris Roberts). NBC's The West Wing, meanwhile, was chosen Drama Series of the Year, and its Commander in Chief, Martin Sheen, was named Actor of the Year in a Drama Series. The Peacock also saw its Emmy-winning sitcom Will &#038 Grace walk off with trophies for Actress of the Year in a Comedy Series (Debra Messing) and Supporting Actor of the Year in a Comedy Series (Sean Hayes). (New Series of the Year), Judging Amy's Amy Brenneman (Actress of the Year/Drama Series), Ed's Tom Cavanagh (Actor of the Year/New Series), Bette's Bette Midler (Actress of the Year/New Series), ER's Noah Wyle (Supporting Actor of the Year/Drama Series), Judging Amy's Tyne Daly (Supporting Actress of the Year/Drama Series), Katie Couric (News Person of the Year), Dark Angel's Jessica Alba (Breakout Star of the Year), Regis Philbin (Personality of the Year), Rosie O'Donnell (Talk-Variety Star of the Year), A&#038E's Biography (Reality Series of the Year), VH1's Behind the Music (Music Series of the Year), Elton John: Greatest Hits Live (Music Special of the Year) and Saturday Night Live's Presidential Bash (Comedy Special of the Year). Craig Kilborn hosted the ceremony, which featured the presentation of the first-ever Brandon Tartikoff award to veteran TV producer David E. Kelley (Picket Fences, Ally McBeal, The Practice) and special performances by Rod Stewart and Vonda Shepard. The event airs on Fox on March 7 (8 pm/ET).
