Everybody loves Raymond...especially Parenthood exec producer Jason Katims, who created the role of Hank, a photographer, for Ray Romano. Hank is "a man of few words who can be a bit of a grouch," Katims says. When he hires Sarah (Lauren Graham, with Romano) as his assistant, it could spell trouble for her relationship with younger boyfriend Mark. "Sarah relates to Hank in ways she can't to Mark," adds Katims.
Of course Romano, who will appear in at least five episodes of the NBC drama starting with the September 11 premiere, will also bring the funny. "Ray is such a great comedian, it wouldn't make sense not to lean into that a little."
