Ratings: Gentleman Is No $#*!; Big Bang and X Factor Still on Top

The new CBS comedy debuted to 9 million viewers and a 2.7 adults 18-to-49 demo rating — a decent start, but a significant drop from the 14.5 million and 4.8 rating its lead-in The Big Bang Theory pulled in. Gentleman, starring David Hornsby and Kevin Dillon, also bowed 33 percent lower in the demo than $#*! My Dad Says did a year ago, and we all know how that turned out.

Despite the drop, CBS still won the night in viewership. Big Bang improved on last week's 14.4 million eyeballs, while Person of Interest (12.42 million, 2.7) and The Mentalist (12.7 million, 2.5) held up well, slipping 13 percent and 11 percent, respectively.Fox won the night in the demo, thanks to The X Factor, which dropped only 12 percent to 11.9 million viewers and a 3.8 rating. Its fellow newbies aren't faring as well: ABC's Charlie's Angels (7.15 million, 1.5) plummeted 29 percent in the demo; NBC's Whitney (5.37 million, 2.5) suffered a 24 percent drop; and Prime Suspect (5.6 million, 1.5) fell 17 percent.Prime Suspect's lead-in, The Office (6.6 million, 3.4), also dipped 13 percent, but Parks and Recreation (4.4 million, 2.1) stayed flat and Community (4 million, 1.8) was up 6 percent from last week.

Following Angels, both Grey's Anatomy (10 million, 3.5) and Private Practice (7.8 million, 2.8) suffered a 15 percent drop — Grey's from last week and Practice from its season-opener last year. The slip makes it the lowest-rated season premiere for Practice in its five years.On The CW, The Vampire Diaries rose 8 percent, luring in 2.7 million and a 1.3 rating, while The Secret Circle (2.09 million, 0.9) was even.
