Fringe delivered 4.9 million viewers and a 1.9 in the demo, slightly above its fall average of 1.8 and up 12 percent from its final Thursday outing last month. Its lead-in, the season premiere of Kitchen Nightmares (4.2 million), also scored a 1.9 in the demo.Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly previously said that if Fringe maintained its Thursday numbers on Fridays, it should be more than enough for a fourth-season renewal.CBS won the night in viewers, aided by the series finale of Medium, which pulled in 7.8 million viewers — the night's biggest audience — and a 1.6 rating.
