Ratings: Fargo Gets Off to OK Start; S.H.I.E.L.D. Up

Aw, geez. Fargo had a modest debut Tuesday.

The well-received drama bowed to 2.65 million viewers, with 1.02 million in the 18-to-49 demographic. That's slightly below FX's most recent launch, The Bridge in July, which drew 3.04 million. Counting encores, Fargo pulled in 4.15 million and 1.79 million in the demo.

On broadcast, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., airing in the 9 o'clock slot, averaged 5.1 million and a 2.0 rating in the demo, up slightly from last week. Celebrity Wife Swap followed with an anemic 3.1 million and a 1.0. Everything else was down or on par, save for About a Boy (7.2 million, 1.9) and Growing Up Fisher (6.1 million, 1.6), both of which inched up.8 p.m.
