Sunday's telecast, which aired live on NBC, attracted more than 13.5 million viewers according to fast national estimates from Nielsen. That's up slightly from last year's CBS broadcast in total viewers (13.47 million), but also down slightly in 18-49 (4.1 rating vs. 4.2.)

Top Moments: Jimmy Fallon, Will Arnett and Ricky Gervais keep things light

The increase in overall viewership is especially noteworthy given the timing of the broadcast; this year's Emmys took place in late August as opposed to its more typical mid-September slot.

Fox came in second in total viewers for the evening thanks to a pre-season match between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos (9.32 million viewers). CBS followed with a new episode of Big Brother (7.85 million viewers).
