The new Fox comedy starring Christian Slater broke out of the gate with 9.88 million people tuning in after American Idol Wednesday. Idol averaged 22.53 million viewers during Wednesday's 90-minute show, which featured contestants covering artists who've been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In prime time's first hour, CBS' Survivor: Redemption Islandattracted 10.54 million people vs. two reruns of ABC's The Middle, whichaveraged about 4.61 million viewers, Minute to Win It( 3.31 million) on NBC and the CW's America's Next Top Model(1.89 million).
At 9/8c, Criminal Mindsgrabbed 13.90 million viewers. Another rerun of ABC'sModern Familyhad a viewership of 5.33 million, followed by Mr. Sunshine at 9:30 with 4.63 million. A repeat of NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit tallied 3.66 million, while Shedding for the Wedding attracted 876,000 on the CW.
